Set the CRM as your default dialer: caller context on every ring, and a call log with names

Why a telecalling app should be the phone's default dialer: incoming calls show the lead's status and last remark, every call logs with the lead name, the after-call sheet appears on hang-up, and optional caller ID flags spam.

Most CRMs live in a browser tab. A telecalling CRM should live in the phone’s dialer, because that is where the call happens. Android lets an app be the default dialer, and when the CRM is, several things become possible that a tab can never do.

What changes when the CRM is the dialer

Incoming calls show who is calling, in your terms. Not just the saved name: the lead’s status, last remark, next follow-up, product. The caller answers already knowing “Interested, site visit Sunday, wife deciding”.

Every call logs on the record. Outgoing, incoming, missed: on the lead’s timeline, with duration. The call log screen shows lead names, not just numbers.

The after-call sheet appears on hang-up. Two taps: status, remark, follow-up. This is the moment the CRM stops being fiction.

Auto WhatsApp triggers on real calls. After-call and missed-call messages fire because the app saw the call end.

The auto dialer runs. Placing calls back to back requires being the dialer.

What it does not change

The keypad, contacts and recents work as before. Personal calls are personal; you can exclude numbers from logging. Nothing about your SIM, plan or number changes.

Setup: one prompt, one reason

On first run, the app asks to become the default dialer and explains why: caller context and after-call capture. Accept, and the guided setup walks through the two or three permissions Android needs, each with its reason. Decline any of them and the app stays usable; the related feature simply stays off until you allow it.

Caller ID and spam: optional

Some teams want unknown callers identified and spam flagged; others already run a caller ID app. It is a switch, off by default. Turn it on and unknown numbers are identified where possible and spam is marked before you pick up. Leave it off and nothing else is affected.

In-call: the lead sheet

During a call, the lead’s sheet is a swipe away: read the history, add a remark mid-call, set the follow-up before hanging up. For outgoing calls from an assigned queue, the assignment completes automatically when the call ends.

Why this matters more than any report

Reports are downstream. Caller context and the after-call sheet are where the data is born. If they live in the dialer, the data is true and the reports take care of themselves.

See the call management feature and the telecalling CRM page, or install and try it as your default dialer for a day.

Frequently asked

Do I have to make it the default dialer?

For caller context on incoming calls and the after-call sheet on every call, yes. You can decline and still use the auto dialer, CRM and WhatsApp; those features stay off until you allow it.

Does it change how I make normal calls?

No. The keypad, contacts and call log are all there. It looks like a dialer because it is one; it just knows your leads.

Is caller ID or spam blocking mandatory?

No. It is optional and off by default; some users keep a separate caller ID app and the CRM does not fight it.
