Telecalling scripts that work when the CRM is two taps away (with templates)

A script is only as good as what happens after the call. Five short scripts for the first call, follow-up, site visit or demo confirmation, renewal and re-activation, each ending in the status, remark and follow-up the caller taps next.

Scripts get a bad name because they are read like scripts. The good ones are shapes: reason, one question, next step. And in a phone-first CRM, each shape ends with a specific tap on the after-call sheet, which is what makes the follow-up happen without anyone remembering.

1. First call to a fresh lead (within 5 minutes)

“Hi Sharma ji, this is Ramesh from Sensy Homes. You just enquired about the 3BHK in Wakad, is now a good time for two minutes?”

Ask one thing: budget band or timeline. Fix one thing: a site visit or a callback.

After-call taps: Status: Interested (or Call back), Remark: “3BHK, 90L, wife deciding, visit Sun 11”, Follow-up: Sunday 11 am. WhatsApp: brochure sends automatically on Interested.

2. Follow-up call (the reminder rang)

“Hi Sharma ji, Ramesh again from Sensy Homes. I had promised to call about the Wakad visit on Sunday. Does 11 still work?”

Reference the last remark, which is on the screen. Reconfirm or move the time.

After-call taps: Status: unchanged or Site visit fixed, Remark: “confirmed Sun 11”, Follow-up: Saturday 6 pm reminder to reconfirm.

3. Confirmation call (visit / demo / appointment tomorrow)

“Hi Sharma ji, quick call to confirm tomorrow 11 at Wakad. I’ll send the location on WhatsApp now.”

After-call taps: Status: Site visit fixed, Follow-up: tomorrow 10 am. WhatsApp: location pin template sends on the status.

4. Renewal call (from the Ending-in-7-days filter)

“Hello Mrs Rao, this is Priya from Sensy Advisors. Your policy renews on the 15th; I’m calling so it does not lapse. Shall I send the renewal link on WhatsApp?”

The card already shows the renewal date, so the opening line writes itself.

After-call taps: Status: Renewal in progress, Remark: “will pay by 12th”, Follow-up: the 12th, 6 pm. WhatsApp: payment link on the status.

5. Re-activation call (old list, no contact in 90 days)

“Hi Mr Khan, this is Arjun from Sensy Learning. You had asked about the weekend batch a few months back; we have a new batch starting on the 20th, is that still something you’re looking at?”

Be honest about the gap; ask one question.

After-call taps: Status: Interested / Not interested / Not reachable. Not interested is a fine outcome: it cleans the list.

Three rules for all of them

  1. Name, company, reason in the first sentence.
  2. One question, one next step. If you leave the call without a next step, the status is Call back and the follow-up is set now.
  3. Tap before the next call. The after-call sheet takes ten seconds and is the only reason the follow-up will happen.

Load these into your team’s language, and let the after-call sheet and auto WhatsApp do the remembering. Start the free trial and run tomorrow’s follow-ups through it.

Frequently asked

Should callers read scripts word for word?

No. Scripts set the shape: reason, question, next step. Callers should say it in their own words and language.

How long should a first call be?

Two to three minutes to qualify and fix the next step. Long first calls usually mean the next step was not asked for.

How does the script connect to the CRM?

Every script ends with an outcome. The after-call sheet captures it in two taps, and the status triggers the WhatsApp that follows.
